January 2017 Letter from the Editor

It’s January 2, 2017, and for myriad reasons all over social media I’ve read posts that say they cannot wait for 2016 to be over. OK. Like a genie in a bottle your wish has been granted.

2017 is a blank slate full of potential.

This year, in addition to our popular columnists, we at Writing from the Peak, are adding new bloggers that not only will help you with your writing, but will help keep things in a positive, thought-provoking and informational light. We’ll talk craft, introduce you to our members and celebrate our members’ Sweet Successes.

The upcoming months will be all about the 2017 Pikes Peak Writers Conference’s 25th anniversary. It’s going to be big, bold and grander than ever, and we want you there!

I think you know there are no genies in a bottle waiting to guarantee your success or to wipe the slate clean. That’s up to you. What there is is a network like no other. Pikes Peak Writers exists for its membership. Monthly Write Brains, Open Critique, Writers Night, camaraderie and friendship.

We’re extending the invitation.  Come join us.

Happy New Year.
