Georgette Heyer, born August 16, 1902 and
died July 4, 1974, was an English historical
romance and detective fiction. Heyer essentially established the
historical romance genre and its subgenre Regency
Romance, inspired by Jane Austen. Beginning in 1932, Heyer released one
romance novel and one thriller
year.
