Of course story is important--and like most truly important things, it's extremely tricky to define. <br /><br />Thanks for mentioning Diana Wynne Jones, too. She was such an amazing writer, both funny and thoughtful. I still have a battered copy of her Tough Guide to Fantasyland; lots of the problems it skewers are still around.
